Salt Spray Watsons Bay

Explore our famous ocean headland and Watson’s Bay. Feel the sand between your toes or just breath in the salt air of the Pacific Ocean.Take in the views of this magnificient harbour as we ferry from the city. Discover the history and beauty of this area including shipwrecks and the rugged cliff face that is gateway to our Harbour. A National Park walk, The Gap, a unique light house and views from South Head to the city and North Head. All the while we get you taking great photos and get the best from your camera. Stay on a while and enjoy a drink at an iconic local hotel with friends enjoying the afternoon. It doesn’t get any better!

We keep our group size small to ensure plenty of personal discussion. For reasons of safety and other factors we can only accept people over the age of 15.

We will educate you in how ISO and why it helps your shutter speed. Which aperture settings to use and when. Key composition concepts.

This is a walking tour as we apply key basic photography principles.It is as much about enjoying the location as it is getting the best from your camera in a limited time.

A maximum class of nine will ensure you have plenty of time with your guide.

We have chosen convenient location for you as well as a ready made backdrop for our photographic experience. Our fee includes morning or afternoon tea and ferry fees.

Other Information
Dress suitably for the weather and the environment of kneeling or sitting outdoors when taking a photo. A solid backpack or camera bag is recommended to carry all your personal and camera accessories as we move between the classroom and the outdoor backdrop. Your camera, fully charged batteries, a spare memory card ( if you have one) and a pen. If you are doing a one day workshop we suggest a hat, sunscreen and camera bag or backpack.

We have chosen central venues for your convenience but also with a readymade canvass for us to enjoy taking photos. Some locations may have a $20 parking charge but review our Venue & Courses tab for specific detail.

No, as we aim to keep our costs down and we will be on the go whilst together, we recommend you bring your lunch & snacks. But all our venues have a bistro or cafes nearby if you want to purchase something.

Most of our classes include practical shoots and we will explain angles and perspective, so you may want to kneel or lay down to get that shot. Dress accordingly but we ask that thongs or sandles not be worn.

Photography is about shooting in all weather conditions. Unless it is truly pouring down, the class will go ahead. We will text sms attendees the night before if we need to reschedule the class.
You best get your booty there early and we invite you to stay around and shoot after class. We have a packed lesson plan so we will start promptly at each session.

A student can reschedule their attendance with not less than eleven days notice to another course, subject to seats being available.

Students who reschedule with between ten and three days notice can choose another date and venue, subject to seats being available, and pay a rebooking fee of $25. Click on the ReBooking button at the bottom of the FAQ page, pay via PayPal and advise us of your original booking and your new preferred date. You can add this information during the checkout process. NPTC will send a confirmation of that request within 2 days.

Students who reschedule or cancel their booking with less than three days notice will forfeit any fees paid.

The College reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a course due to weather or other circumstance. A full refund is available if alternate dates are not suitable.

The College limits its class size and commits itself to resources, trainers and venue hire in advance and those who do not attend their class are not eligible for any refund and are liable for the full cost of any course fee.

The College will confirm your booking request within 2 working days of receipt of your inquiry. It will include specific venue details and a tax invoice receipt for course fees paid. We regret we cannot reserve seats until full payment is made.

Re-Booking Fee is $25

Gift Vouchers expire after 180 days, are not redeemable for cash and are non-refundable. They are however, transferrable to another person.

You can signup online with our secure e-commerce via the Venues & Courses tab and remember to have your credit card handy. If you don’t have a credit card or don’t like the online registration, just ring NPTC and we can book you in over the phone.
NPTC can recommend what equipment you need at the class and leave it to you to go back to your retailer to get the best deal. You will be surprised what they can do if you just discuss your needs with them.
Our classes are limited to ensure an effective level of individual contact and learning. We ask you to read our Refund & Cancellation Policy below before making a booking. Exceptional circumstances will be reviewed on a case by case basis as, ultimately, we are here to help you learn.
We choose central locations with easy access, parking and photo opportunities. Please note that some venues are in licensed premises and you may be required to provide photo I.D. to gain entry.
